At Seattle Reign Academy, we take a unique approach to tryouts/Identification Sessions to better accommodate players and families. We believe seeing a player on multiple occasions, over a prolonged period is the most accurate away to assess a player’s potential fit into our club & we have designed our process to provide flexibility and multiple opportunities for players to showcase their skills
Key Details About Our Tryout Process:
Flexible Scheduling: Most age groups have four ID Sessions scheduled, allowing players to attend at their convenience and fit tryouts around their other soccer schedules. This structure provides flexibility for families and ensures players can attend multiple sessions if desired. Please note, the HS age groups (2010 & older) will have 2 ID sessions, on back-to-back days.
Attendance Recommendation: Players are encouraged to attend at least two sessions, though attending more will give coaches additional opportunities to evaluate and learn more about each player in the areas of technical and tactical abilities as well as socio-emotional mindset. It is highly recommended for HS-aged players (2010 and older) attend both sessions offered.
Rolling Evaluation and Communication: Our tryouts follow a rolling process, meaning players may receive feedback or invitations after any session. Communication is ongoing throughout the tryout period rather than concentrated at the end. Therefore, we recommend prioritizing the earlier sessions when possible.

Identification Sessions occur to identify players outside the club, looking to commit to the training methodology & environment provided by Reign Academy staff. The staff is looking to add players that align with our core values of Respect, Energy, Integrity, Growth-mindset, faithful to the Never-ending process. In addition to exemplifying these core values, players that show the technical proficiency, tactical awareness with and without the ball, and who are socio-emotionally up for the challenge. Over time, we are hopeful to nurture qualities such as resilience, adaptability & a passion for service. We believe talent is not a static data point, but a collection of influences over time that make up a soccer player’s DNA. Our mission is to create a supportive space that fosters learning & allows players to maximize their abilities. Who a player is today, versus who a player can become is our focus.
